Our Founder and Director, Katharine Purser has over 20 years experience leading teams to broker effective solutions to complex public sector challenges. She has worked in senior roles in central and local government. 

At the Department for Work and Pensions, Katharine established and ran the Chief Data Office successfully moving the department toward more effective use of data in policy design and service delivery. As Strategic Commissioner at the London Borough of Barnet, she led data-centred work on skills commissioning, welfare reform implementation and organisational strategic planning. 

As Director for Kompass Consulting, Katharine has led Data Discovery, Data Strategy, AI Maturity and AI Strategy projects for clients in central government and ALBs including Department for Science Innovation and Technology, Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
